Dr. Lawrence Nathan, born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nathan completed his fellowship in Maternal/Fetal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, where he was awarded the Jack A. Pritchard fellowship in Maternal/Fetal Medicine.
Prior to joining Atlanta Perinatal Consultants in 1995, he held both clinical and academic appointments at Emory University School of Medicine. He is a member of several medical organizations, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Medical Association, Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and the Atlanta Obstetrical & Gynecological Society. He is published extensively in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Nathan’s primary interests are medical complications of pregnancy and prematurity.
